The product description on Amazon is correct. It is not for medium or smaller dogs. It appears to be very good. I gave it to a friend who has a larger dog.

I had high hopes for this leash based upon the great reviews however the instructions were not detailed enough for me and I never did get it on my mouthy, giant puppy. I could not for the life of me understand how to place -what should be a simple figure 8- over my dog’s beak in such a way that the excess rope landed at the back of her neck. Am I outing myself as a bit daft? 100%. However, i assume that most people buying this leash are doing so to address some pulling and other excitement at walk-time. If it is not extremely clear how to put this thing on a dog who is likely going bananas about going on a walk, then it’s a no-go.Bummer because the color, length and material are all on target.

Short version- not made for dogs that chew the leash.Long version: I looking a more secure gentle leader. I didn’t want a leash that fastened with a buckle bc somehow my dog’s becomes undone with enough pressure. This was a good option for that and soft. It didn’t choke my dog either. However, my dog only nipped the leash and already some strand were cut. I tried using it indoor for training and she cut through in less than 2 minutes. I can see it fitting dogs for many sizes. Try a different brand with similar design.

This was really great. The rope material wasn't the absolute best quality, but for the cost it really is good. I have a very powerful 50lb pittbull who pulls like crazy. With the figure 8 slip lead, she instantly stopped pulling. The round rope seems to be pretty comfortable. (Keep in mind, that you do have to take a few minutes to get the dog used to having the rope around their face. There are other more expensive versions that have a connector to the collar (as a backup). But you can just use a snap hook from home depot and add it on.

This leash met my low expectations. Luckily I had a harness and another leash on along with thus one, when I tried it out.She slipped the back of it off while still having the front part on, and that was when we barely started our walk.Once we got to the park, we have been practicing not being reactive to other dogs. She failed, but what was worse is that she had completely slipped this leash.This leash does not appear to be for reactive dogs, and more for calmer dogs, maybe.
